Lufthansa Technik, Germany
Well-grounded skills

Skill shortages are endemic in many industries, limiting growth and reducing competitiveness. To help redress this situation, Adecco offers various training programmes around the world.

Lufthansa Technik in Berlin is an international leader in training staff for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). DIS AG, which has a long-standing partnership with Lufthansa, was asked in 2007 to help develop MRO training partnerships. Jürgen Grau at DIS headquarters in Düsseldorf, who is leading the project, recruited Michael Kottlowski for a three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship in aircraft maintenance. Jürgen will act as Michael’s mentor. His training is funded by DIS AG, which also pays his salary. The client benefits, in all ways: it acquires the skills it needs by investing in long-term relationships with a motivated and highly qualified workforce, and even earns money doing it. A number of DIS offices in Germany work with clients in various industries to develop and run training schemes for a range of skills and professional expertise.
